Rockefeller Center - Top of the Rock

Dynamic unreal engine 5 videos

Overview

Take to the skies and see yourself on Top of The Rock from a virtual drone perspective overlooking all of Manhattan. We joined Matte Projects to bring cutting edge tech to revamping one of the world's best observation decks for Top of the Rock's New Frontiers. Along with a generative photobooth from web3 photographer Diana Sinclair and a revamped version of Lunch Atop a Skyscraper, we created an experience that lets visitors take a selfie video that starts from the ground level and soars all the way above the observation deck via drone. The only hiccup, commercial drones can't fly in Manhattan and Rockefeller Center is right in the middle of the island. So we designed midtown Manhattan in a virtual, photrealistic scene in Unreal Engine 5 that uses real time data for weather and time of day to create a unique image for every visitor. A weather-proof camera, interactive screen and full lighting create the perfect selfie video of visitors, head to toe, from the sky that can easily be downloaded and/or shared directly on all social platforms. Produced together with Matte Projects.
